The Government Cheaper Home Batteries Program

Maximise your savings on a Tesla Powerwall 3 with both the federal battery rebate and the government Cheaper Home Batteries Program.

Eligible battery installations can receive an upfront discount of around 30% through the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), on top of the Tesla rebate of up to $1,500.

Together, these incentives reduce your upfront cost, help lower electricity bills, and let you make the most of clean solar energy at home.

Rebate levels will reduce from 1 May 2026, so installing sooner helps secure the highest available savings.

Why Choose Tesla Powerwall 3?

The new Powerwall 3 is built for the energy realities of modern Australian homes.

With 13.5 kWh of storage, it’s enough to power an average household through the evening and overnight, while hardware upgrades make it more powerful, efficient, and user-friendly than ever.

Key Features:

  • Integrated Solar Inverter: Connect solar panels directly to Powerwall 3, simplifying installation and boosting efficiency.
  • Higher Continuous Power Output: Up to 10kW output, allowing more appliances to run simultaneously during blackouts, including air conditioners, computers, and home offices.
  • Sleek, Durable Design: Modern minimalist aesthetics with IP67-rated electronics, built to withstand harsh Australian weather.
  • AC/DC Coupling Flexibility: Ideal for new solar installations, reducing the need for a separate inverter and streamlining your system.

Smart Economics for 2026:

  • Combined Rebates: Stack Tesla’s $1,500 rebate with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program to reduce upfront costs.
  • Under $15k Investment: After rebates and installation, the Powerwall 3 system can cost as little as $11,890.
  • Fast Payback: With average annual savings of $2,000, the system can pay for itself in under 6 years.
