Our Process

Our process and your solar / renewables journey, in our eyes, is not a short term transaction. We are with you now and into the future for the lifetime of the system, with ongoing support and maintenance to keep your energy producing asset in peak operational functionality:

  • Talk to a certified installer not sales staff. Talk to an expert that actually installs the systems and understands what is required for a fully operational system
  • Provide base information – electricity bills, needs, wants and desires for the proposed system
  • Book a time to complete an on site inspection to determine all aspects of the installation – current switchboard capacity, location of equipment, any limitations and or obstructions
  • We’ll then provide a fully scoped proposal and or options to suit your property. We’ll advise on what we think is the best option from an operational, constructability or value for money proposition. The decision is yours on where we start (base system or future proofing or everything now).
  • When you’re settled on the system we will require confirmation by signing the agreement and payment of a deposit. It is at this stage that we make application to the DNSP for approval to install the solar system and confirm the maximum amount of export to the grid that can be obtained. We always ask for the maximum amount, however, the DNSP sets the value based on their system requirements.
  • The project will then be scheduled for construction between two and four weeks from signing the agreement in order for us to get all of the equipment required to complete your individual system. Weather does play a significant roll in working on the roof so we will advise if there are delays due to rain, wind or other environmental factors.
  • Once the equipment is received in our store and or delivered to your site, we will confirm the installation date to suit your availability. Payment for all the major equipment is also required at this stage.
  • On construction day we will require unimpeded access to the roof, roof space, switchboard, surrounding areas for equipment installation and on site facilities.
  • Depending on the size and location of the equipment it will take 1 to 2 days (based on a standard system) to complete the installation, testing and commissioning. Final payment will now be required.
  • Once completed the system is ready for service (In VIC the system still needs to have an Electrical Inspection, which will will arrange. This takes approx one week to be completed). We then need to complete documentation to the DNSP to change the meter configuration for solar feed in tariff. Please check with your electricity retailer that your package includes a solar feed in tariff.

We offer a biennial system service program tailored to each site where we attend to:

  • Inspect all equipment associated with the system.
  • Log into the control system and ensure all firmware is updated to the most current available.
  • Clean every solar panel (warm soapy water and a window cleaner).
  • Report all findings and advise remedial actions.
